Purging for June

Krista, at This Mumma’s Life, recently posted that she wanted to pick something up and do something every day for the month of June.

I liked the idea, and have decided that I’m going to spend June purging the house.

I like summer to be a time of simplicity, and “stuff” gets in the way.

Once school gets out and the school “stuff” stops coming in the door, that will be very helpful, however, I also have some baby things to donate, some things from the garage that we moved last summer and are realizing that we don’t really use, that plastic bag that is STILL on my bedroom door since we came home from the beach last summer.

I want to spend June purging so that I can just enjoy summer.

I want to spend my summer outside…not inside cleaning.

So, out with the stuff and in with the simple!

Anyone want to join me?

  1. I love that my post inspired you! Thanks for the link.

I loved your suggestion, and especially since we are hoping to move in the coming months, I need to do more organizing as well. I had to laugh at your plastic bag, because my canvas beach bag is STILL THERE too. Haha, we are seemingly a lot alike. πŸ™‚

There was a blogger who wrote a list of forty spots in her house that needed organizing and she pledged to clear a bag of clutter a day for forty days. I can’t remember where on these internets it was, but I saw it go by on pinterest a few times. I want to do a project like this at some point. (Hmmm…maybe July?)

    • I love that idea. I’ll do that, every now and then…everyone grab a bag and fill it and out it goes. I used to run a yearly decluttering challenge at FrugalVillage.com forums, but haven’t done it the past few years. Someone else took it over, but I still like to participate when I remember! πŸ™‚
