Deep Peace

Jeff, a friend of mine, signs off many of his posts on Facebook with the words “Deep Peace.”

I think about that phrase, often, and try to associate it with certain moments in my life.

Two nights ago, I went looking for the monkeys.

It was close to bedtime and I couldn’t hear them, so I wondered what they were “right in the middle of, Mom!” so that bedtime would have to be postponed by 15 minutes.

I walked into Monkey Girl’s room and found this scene.

Deep Peace.

  1. That is so beautiful and one of those moments that I’d feel right in my heart. I remember catching Ally a few times with a flashlight and under her comforter, reading a book. She once was sitting on the floor in her walk-in closet at night with the light on and reading, too. There’s something really special about seeing children engrossed in a book. I love it.

  2. That is a moment of deep peace. Utilizing Reiki has been a huge part of me finding deep peace among the craziness. When I’m “focused” I’m able to meditate and find peace in the middle of chaos. The other thing that I’m trying to work on is to accept Deep Peace as a choice not a destination. It’s a place we can go to (inside) at any moment in our life. The power of the duck putting oil on it’s own feathers to let the water run off it’s back so it can stay warm and not become saturated – that’s a powerful choice.

    Deep Peace
