Miracle

Now, please know that I do NOT use the term “miracle” lightly.

In fact, I take issue with the term in most cases.

For example, the movie “Miracle” about the 1980 US Olympic ice hockey team who beat the odds and beat the Russians in the Olympics?

I think it takes away from their hard work to call that a miracle.

Yes, they were the underdogs and for many reasons, shouldn’t have won.

However, they worked hard and calling it a miracle takes away from their hard work.

So, underdog story?

Yes.

Big surprise?

You betcha.

Miracle?

No.

However, I have to say, although I know how scientific it truly is and how it all works, physically, this baby growing in my belly?

Miracle.

I mean…seriously.

I am growing a human in my body.

It started out as a little nothing and is going to come out as a person.

How does that happen?

So very many things can go wrong, and for many people, unfortunately, it does.

And, we’re not done with this one yet, so I don’t want to speak prematurely that everything will be fine.

But if it is?

Miracle.

Right now, he/she is doing somersaults and you can see his/her little butt knocking against my skin.

It looks completely like the movie “Alien” but it’s awesome!

Miracle.

Yes, this is my fourth, and so by now, the whole miracle-ness of it all should have worn off.

But, it hasn’t.

And it won’t.

It’s crazy.

It’s insane.

It’s amazing.

It’s wonderful.

Miracle.

  1. I didn’t realize you were expecting. When is the due date?

With regard to miracle – I think the growing of our two girls in my wife’s belly was something much more then a miracle. For all the reasons you stated. It seems like the word miracle is used for sporting events and other events of this world. I’m not a deeply religious person, but I am very spiritual and the creation and development of our two girls was just magical. I remember playing with Lily before she was born. I would push on Jill’s stomach and Lily would push back at me. It was just amazing.

    All the best.

    Peace

  2. where do i start…the miracle on ice was totally a miracle. they were a rag tag team of college players thrown together at the last minute, who ended up beating the best team in the world…the team that had won every gold medal since 1964…the team that had beaten them 10-3 less than two weeks earlier…the team that beat the NHL All Stars 6-0 the year before…

by the way…the baby is a total miracle too!

  4. Absolutely agree with u on this Amy! Sports, politics, rescues at sea or in mines….amazing events to be celebrated…..but do not hold a candle to the “miracle” of facing 50/50 odds of a recurrence of a significant and devastating abnormality and yet having my life graced by our happy ajd healthy little girl! I often run short on “faith” but Skylar helps me to remain in touch with my spiritual side and with my belief that miracles can and do still happen! :0)

    Babies are 100000000% miracles!

Cant wait to see the latest addition to the Bozza clan!
