I read a lot of blogs.
That’s not the confession.
Just leading up to it.
Most of the blogs I read are Mommy blogs.
Blogs where the Moms share their daily routines and tell funny stories about their kids and talk about crafts and activities they’ve done with their kids.
When I grow up, I want to be a Mom like these ladies.
They grow spices and herbs in their gardens.
They make lavender cupcakes.
Homemade bread.
They have scented paper in their linen closets.
They have things that they call “linens.”
They make seashell necklaces and ridiculously amazing crafts with their kids.
Me?
I’m lucky if my kids get a bath most days, and when they do, I dry them with towels and they sleep on sheets…not linens…that smell of ShopRite dryer sheets…not scented linen paper.
We make funfetti cupcakes from a box mix, and the boys make butt jokes while we wait for them to bake.
Crafts end up with at least one child completely covered in marker and the other two upset that their glue sticks had dried out.
I know I’m not alone.
I read other Mommy blogs, as well.
Moms who have stories that more closely echo mine.
But, still…
…Somedays, I dream of being a Martha Stewart/Crunchy Granola Mom who does amazing things and then smiles and winks with a little sparkle.
And that’s my truth for today.
What a funny ‘confession’! I loved it!

I mean to grow a garden every year. Thankfully there’s a farmers’ market nearby from May-November.

Amy, I just love to read this post! When I read the Martha Stewart mom blogs, I thought, “gosh, these people are so creative! They do so much with their kids!” When my kids paint, it makes my day not to see the paint on the floor, or on their hair!
Anyway, I hope you don’t mind me putting your blog on my blogroll!
