Last night was a stormy night.
I love a stormy night.
I realize that it would have been a lot more catchy to quote Eddie Rabbit here, but it wasn’t just a rainy night.
It was a stormy night.
Raise your hand if you got the Eddie Rabbit reference.
Anyone?
Anyone?
If not, go look it up on YouTube and listen to the song.
An all time favorite.
The name?
Uh, duh!
“I Love a Rainy Night.”
But, I digress.
So, it was a stormy night.
Howling wind.
Rain pelting the house.
Having to go out and rescue the recycling bin and garbage cans twice before we thought to put them in the garage where they wouldn’t blow away.
Here are a few shots of our little stream which is usually low enough for us to step across on the stones that lay at the bottom.
We all snuggled up, warm and safe, inside and listened to the storm rage outside and just enjoyed each other.
This morning, we drove around and surveyed the damage and were grateful that we didn’t have trees that fell on our homes or cars as many did.
That we have a house where the basement stays dry and doesn’t fill with water.
That we didn’t lose power.
Ah, forget it…
Here ya go…
I LOVE A RAINY NIGHT
Eddie Rabbitt – 1980
Well I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good
Well I love a rainy night
It’s such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain
On my face
To taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadow
Showers wash
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
‘Cause I love a rainy night
Yes I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good
Puts a song
In this heart of mine
Puts a smile on my face every time
‘Cause I love a rainy night
Yes I love a rainy night
Ooh I love a rainy night
Yeah I love a rainy night
Showers wash
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
‘Cause I love a rainy night
Yes I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
Well I love a rainy night
Of course I got the Eddie Rabbit reference (born in ’72 baby). Do you really have your own stream? That is cool.
