So, we’re thinking of purchasing Macs for our school, and Apple sent me an executive loaner MacBook Pro to try out for a few weeks.
I’m absolutely LOVING it!
Today, it’s rainy and yucky outside, so the monkeys and I have been playing with the MacBook.
One of our favorite features is Photo Booth.
Here are some of our experiments:
We thought black and white deserved serious faces.
For this one, we pretended we were on Ghost Hunters and were witnessing paranormal phenomena on the infared camera.

This was supposed to be a roller coaster background, but it didn’t really work out too well.
So, we’re going to continue to play, and I may need to start saving my pennies to purchase a MacBook for my next computer purchase (which won’t be for a long time, because I just got my laptop in November). It’s an awesome computer with some great applications for both work and home.
I’m curious, if you don’t mind sharing, how do you all do your computing?

Mac, and I won’t use anything else now. I know, everyone always says that, and I always thought it was stupid, because they’re both computers, right? Wrong. The main reason I got a Mac was because my PC was getting really annoying viruses, and no matter how many security programs I installed and how careful I was on the Internet, my computer always got viruses! It was also getting very slow. Finally, after visiting the Geek Squad and almost losing my most important documents, my family decided enough was enough. I have been using a Mac for about a year now, and I have yet to even come close to getting a virus. It is the best thing ever: fast, has great applications, and most importantly, does not get viruses. I highly recommend one!!

Amy, First of all, what particular Mac do you own? Secondly, do you find that you have issues with the internet? It’s the only issue I’ve found is that, frequently, it can’t connect. I never had that problem with my Lenovo laptop, so I don’t think it is a network issue. Could just be the interface, but I don’t know.

My desktop is a Mac, but it has wireless internet on it, and so far, I haven’t had a problem connecting to the Internet unless there’s something wrong with my house’s wireless. At her college, Veronica has a Macbook Pro, which she loves, but if you’re wondering, neither of us know what the difference between Pro and regular are, but she just knows that the Macbook Pro (which is the first Mac she’s ever had) is great for her. She doesn’t seem to be complaining of Internet connection problems, but then, she’s at a huge university, so I doubt they have that problem with any wireless connection. I’m not sure why your Mac is having problems; I haven’t heard of many complaints about that from my friends, but I’m sure if you called the apple company or something, someone might be able to help? Sorry if I couldn’t be of more help…

I love my iMac. Started out years ago with the Apples and switched to a PC because “everyone” said I should. Well before retiring I returned to the fold and have never looked back. The security is fabulous and I know I have yet to scratch the surface of all it’s capabilities.
Steph has a MacBook for her work at the University and loves it as well. Think you need to seriously consider one :0)

A PC with dual booth system. One runs on a Linux (Ubunty) Operating system, and the other on Windows. I only use Windows for off-line applications which won’t run on Ubuntu. I absolutely hate Windows security – or rather the lack thereof.
